Whinnie Williams - I Wanna Be Yours (Arctic Monkeys Cover)

Recorded and shot whilst passing time in the US, Whinnie Williams welds a unique mask on the original dull-sick northern tones of Alex Turner’s Arctic Monkeys track
'I Wanna Be Yours.'

Released February 14th, this romantic Valentine’s performance showcases just what Williams is capable of.

Check out Whinnie’s Youtube for more track covers and her Instagram for style sights.

The Staves

Female trio The Staves are an acoustic folk band of sisters from Watford, England.
Signed to Atlantic Records, The Staves have a plethora of outstandingly beautiful acoustic sessions.

Their roster consists of:

"Pay Us No Mind"
"Winter Trees" *HR
"Icarus"
"Motherlode" *HR (EP released April 2012)

The Staves supported Bov Iver November 2012 at Wembley and are predicted to achieve many more great accomplishments with the label in the near future.

*HR - Highly Recommended

Justin Saltmeris has been described, by the ‘A-List Sessions’, as "the love child of Janis Joplin and Joe Cocker" -if that kid were to have been brought up on cigarettes and whisky.

With the heart of a poet and voice of an angel, seduced by a rugged folk musician, Justin’s husky tone envolopes any listener into a warm/homely sense of security.

Won: The prestigious MBF Award

Some of his duets include the cover of ‘Shangri-La’ with Sophie Madeleine and ‘Tie Down Your Heart’ featuring Libby Beckmann and Nick Williams; both of which I would highly recommend.

Sidney Sönnerberg of Engine: ‘Motto’

Sidney Sönnerberg is one half of the band Engine, which formed three years ago whilst the Swedish singer/song-writer and guitarist was studying with Stephen O’Loan at university.
The two talented musicians both write and perform their tracks, inspired by artists ranging from The Beatles and Bob Dylan to Bat for Lashes and Laura Marling.
Sidney, currently seeking a drummer and brass player, has recently made Lorna Young Engine’s newest addition, describing her as "an awesome violinist".
He continued: "the band will be a lot more interesting now", both musically and in a visually gratifying sense.

The band are currently recording in a small studio in Soho, with a new track set to be released in the New Year.

The track ‘Baby’ features the band’s iconic 80’s sound, with the vocals evoking nostalgia due to its Curtis Mayfield similarities and a more ‘recent’ comparison of Michael Kiwanuka.

The Fixers: ‘We’ll Be The Moon’

The Fixers are a five-piece band from Oxford, England, who project a youthful psychedelia. The band are signed to Mercury Records and released their debut album in May 2012 called ‘We’ll Be The Moon’.

As referenced in NME, the “devastatingly beautiful-pop/rock/jazz” record has coincidental sounds of MGMT and Animal Collective. The majestic synth-pop tunes make the band’s music a media mine-gold that will, no doubt, feature in commercial television and filmography on an international scale.

The Lumineers - ‘Hey Ho

"Rustic, heart-on-the-sleeve music."

The Lumineers’ most recent official music video show the folk-trio ‘walk the line’ with their unerring gift for timeless melodies and soul-stirring lyrics.

In 2011, The Lumineers’ self-recorded EP led to a self-booked tour, attracting devout fans across Western USA; stamping grounds with Americana barnburners, in vein of the Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons.
